Watco's Great Northwest Railroad.

This came in on the Ayer turn last night for the Watco startup.

The remote platform is obviously an old GP30. The bulk of the prime mover is still in place minus a lot of parts and the traction motors have been removed. Basically it can be used coupled to any locomotive to make a remote operation.

The BAR unit is a GP38-3, appears to have extended range dynamic brakes and is equipped with cast iron brake shoes which is unusual. It might be set up as a yard switcher with the cast iron brakes but they had better watch out once the remote is placed in service as they will be able to slide the wheels easier than had it been equipped with composition shoes.
